Denver Zoo '14

Today G, my mom, and I went to the Zoo for my mom's company summer picnic. It was a lot of fun, and free (can't get better than that)! And in typical Colorado style, it was sunny, sprinkling, pouring, sunny, and cloudy. The animals were out and active and I was able to get some good pictures! Sort of shocking because a lot of times the animals are sleeping or in the shade or not in their cages at all. G was really into the animals and couldn't wait for us to move on to the next animal.

The brown bear got up and pretty much posed for us. How cool is that?!

There were 2 baby chick flamingos. They are born grey and poofy. We were only able to see one. He was SO cute!

The poor gorilla just looked so bored.....

Cheese. There's a lion behind me!

G is all about maps these days and the zoo map was filled with pictures. She just loved figuring out where we should go.

This was the kamodo dragon. It was SO muscular. The informational sign next to its cage said that they are cannibals and will eat their young. Yuck!! They have killed and eaten humans. Also, they eat their prey whole, bones and all; just like a snake.

Lots of fun pictures. It was such a fun day at the zoo. Thanks Grandma for the invite!
