Our Day in Denver

Today, both Jesse and I were off and we decided to spend the day in Denver. We started our day at the Children's Museum which was a lot of fun. I remember going to the Children's Museum when I was a child, although it did seem much larger when I was a kid. Either way, it was fun to do something out of the ordinary.

There are several stations that the children can play/experiment with, and they do switch up the stations every few months or so. The museum is undergoing LOTS of construction and will double in size by the end of 2015.

                              Building binoculars!

There was a whole bubble area which was really cool. What kid doesn't love bubbles? You could make bubbles of all sizes and out of different liquids.

And other fun stations...

After the Children's Museum, we enjoyed the sunshine while walking around the South Platte River which runs through downtown Denver.

Then for dinner, we ate at Casa Bonita which is a well known restaurant west of Denver that has been around for over 40 years. If you ask any local Coloradan about Casa Bonita, they will know exactly what you're talking about. It's quite the unique dining experience, to say the least. They have a giant waterfall in the center of the restaurant and all the decor is very tropical. There's cliff divers who dive off the waterfall every 15 minutes, there's a puppet show every hour, an arcade, little kiddie rides, a cave you can walk through, and live music. So yes, lots of entertainment which is fun for the kids, but the food is terrible! haha That's the joke; people go there for the ambiance and definitely not the food. Again, Casa Bonita was a place I remember going to when I was a kid and it was fun to share the same experience with my daughter. She absolutely loved watching the cliff diver (who was a girl that night). G said she was doing "gymnastics in the water". Too cute!
